A Gauss meter, also known as a Gaussmeter or magnetometer, is a device used to measure the strength of a magnetic field. EMF stands for electromagnetic field, which includes both magnetic fields and electric fields.
 
In ghost hunting, investigators use Gauss meters to detect changes in the local magnetic field as they believe that paranormal entities or spirits might cause disruptions in electromagnetic fields. One theory is that ghosts or spirits could manifest their presence by altering the magnetic environment.
