An SLS camera—short for Structured Light Sensor camera—is a paranormal‑investigation tool that uses infrared depth mapping to detect shapes in a room and display them as stick‑figure humanoid forms. It’s the device you see on ghost‑hunting shows where a figure appears on the screen even though nothing is visible to the naked eye.
 
What an SLS Camera Actually Does
 
• It projects a grid of infrared dots into the environment.
• The sensor reads how those dots bounce back and builds a 3D depth map.
• When the software sees something shaped like a human—head, torso, limbs—it overlays a stick figure on your screen.
• This tech originally came from the Microsoft Kinect gaming system, later repurposed by investigators because it sometimes maps figures where no person is present.
 
Why Paranormal Investigators Use It
 
• Detecting unseen entities: It can map figures in empty rooms, suggesting a possible presence.
