A Brief History of the REM-POD: 

The original REM-POD® was created by Gary Galka who introduced the very first model in 2011 on the popular TV series Ghost Adventures. Since then, the REM-POD® has fascinated audiences, 
making countless appearances on well-known paranormal, and adventure TV shows. Today it is considered a standard tool among paranormal investigators worldwide. While many imitations and

How the Rem-Pod® Works: 

The Rem-Pod can be classified as an electromagnetic device because it relies on the fundamental principal of electromagnetism. The device applies an electric field to a circuit, and then observes how the field is influenced. By monitoring those changes, it can measure capacitance, or how well something can store electrical energy. In practice, when a conductive, or non-conductive (to a lesser degree) object enters the field, the capacitance of the circuit changes and the Rem-Pod detects and measures that change. How the object alters the field determines the influence on the LED's and audible tones.  When the temperature sensor detects a temperature change of ±1.0°F or more, the temperature LED will light up (red for temperature rise, blue for temperature drop), accompanied by ascending or descending audible octave sounds that correlate to each temperature step change.
